Having just won the coveted title of Miss Exotic World 2007, Immodesty Blaize could be forgiven for enjoying a vodka and tonic whilst being interviewed by our own Kittie Klaw. We managed to catch a few (slightly sozzled) words from the reigning queen of Burlesque and extract some handy advice for new burlesque performers.
Immodesty Blaize is a name that every true burlesque lover should know immediately. She is perhaps the successor to the British born Lydia Thompson’s crown as the buxom queen of British burlesque and Immodesty’s growing reputation amongst the showbiz glitterati has made her one of the few burlesque stars who have managed to cross over into the mainstream too.
Recently she was the star of the Faking It Christmas Special (Faking It is one of the UK’s hottest reality shows and the Immodesty special drew HUGE viewing figures). Ms Blaize is also a regular on chat show couches in the UK and internationally.
A fine ambassador for British burlesque if ever there was one and now the very first British Miss Exotic World, Immodesty travels the globe to perform at high profile events and her sell-out shows have become something of a legend.
