Goodbye MoB Agency, Hello MoB Talent!

In an announcement which is sure to take a lot of you by surprise, the MoB Agency is closing its doors to make way for MoB Talent, our brand new free profile service for performers!

Over the past year or so, the burlesque scene has grown quickly and lots of great new performers are appearing on the scene all the time and Ministry Of Burlesque feels that it’s time to give all performers an equal opportunity to make use of the huge resources available at Ministry Of Burlesque.

The new site - which is now accessible at http://talent.ministryofburlesque.com can best be likened to a MySpace or Facebook for the burlesque and cabaret scene. Performers can create their profiles, add photos and YouTube video and easily communicate with each other. They can also create friends lists, fan clubs and each profile has an easy to remember web address like talent.ministryofburlesque.com/performername.

It’s even possible to create your own virtual talent agency! You can make your agency available for anybody to join or you can make it private and only work with a select few. The options are 100% up to you.

We’ve also got a VASTLY improved talent search system. Because performers can now choose from many different skillsets (eg tassel-twirling, fan-dancing, singer, stage manager etc…) it’s now possible to find exactly the talent you need in seconds. There’s no more traipsing around MySpace, wasting time reading endless generic profiles. Our search will give you what you want in seconds. And because most of the profiles have embedded video from YouTube, it’s never been easier for performers to promote their own specific talents to the audience that matters!

If that wasn’t enough, we’re also giving you the ability to run your own blog which will be displayed on your profile page. Each time you post a new blog, your profile will update with your latest information. There’s never been a better way to let people know when you’ll be appearing at an event near them.

There are too many new features to list here - the best way to find them all out is to see for yourself. I’ve already moved our agency performers onto the new site and they will receive their login details in the next day or so, but performers who have previously not been on our books are welcome to register - all registrations are verified before they appear on the listings, so please make sure that you register properly and don’t waste your time by filling in gobbledeygook!

Ministry Of Burlesque hopes that our new Talent site will level the playing field for all burlesque performers and help them find lots of lovely work! Please tell as many of your performing friends as you can about our spiffing new service.
